John Mackenzie outside one of his favourite haunts, the Kaffeehaus on a return visit to Jever in November 1990.   He says he can taste the Cutlet and Kartofflen to this day.   It was run by Alfred and Mutti and 'Herr Ober' was the long-suffering Rudi.   He found the place much the same and obviously frequented by detached squadrons of the RAF after John had long gone judging by the squadron badges and memorabilia that adorned the bar.   He relates that for some reason the journey back from the Kaffeehaus (always on foot) used to develop into a race which 'Nobby' Hobbs - despite some cheating and blatant obstruction - always won!   (Thanks to John Mackenzie)
