Standard Operational Procedures for
No. 122 Wing RAF Jever
                               RESTRICTED. Page 21

11. If a raid is too large to be split into twelve separate targets, then
it is divided into areas, or sub-raids, and the broadcast position of each
sub-raid corresponds to its centre of gravity. If this occurs several missions
would be allotted to each sub-raid and fighter leaders would listen out for
the first target number higher than their own mission numbers, e.g.:-

                      Target Five is Mission 01, 02, 03, O4s Target.

Target Ten is Mission 06, 07, 08, 09s Target, etc.

12. The timing of the broadcast of target position is related directly to
the rotation of the time base of the P.P.I. and targets are grouped in such
a way that they are "painted" at approx. the same time and a broadcast of
their position follows immediately.

13. The broadcast is handled by two people and takes place as follows:-

    (a) As time base sweeps through first target group

         Broadcaster No. 1: - (Callsign)Broadcast begins ...............
                              Targets 3, 7, 8, 11............NOW

     (b) As time base sweeps through second target group

          Broadcaster No. 1: Targets 2, 4, 9...............NOW

          Broadcaster No. 2: Target 2 BK 5459 )2nd Revolution

                               Target 9 CK 4500 ) base.

     (c) As time base sweeps through third target group
          Broadcaster No. 1: Targets 5, 6, 10, 12..........NOW

          Broadcaster No. 2: Target 5 CH 3030 )3rd..
                               Target 6 CH 2025 )Revolution

Remainder height 40. All	)of 4th

14. Should it arise that there are not sufficient fighters to handle the raid,
"extra" targets may be introduced into the broadcast. These are targets to which
no fighters have been allocated and are broadcast without a target number, e.g.
EXTRA AN 3432; EXTRA AH 5045; these targets may be taken by any fighters who
have "splashed" their own target or are so badly positioned that interception of
their own target is impossible.

15. Normally for every target broadcast there is a fighter mission listening
for information on the broadcast frequency. It is important that unnecessary
R/T usage does not block other fighters' information.

                                                             /16.
                                     RESTRICTED.
