Boxing Day football match between the UK personnel at Jever.   The Station in those days was centred on the old Primary School, as far as an Admin Unit was concerned, with the majority of those in the photo working at various Communications sites around the Jever/Schortens area, including Sector Control at Brockzetel.   So in total there were probably about 35 of us stationed there at the time, including a Royal Signals Army detachment, with the married quarters in use in Schumacher Strasse, Edert Strasse etc.   Anyone who was single (about 5 of us including myself) had a really rough time being billeted in one of the married quarters!   We were obviously a far flung outpost and the photograph sums up the great Community spirit amongst us at the time.   The 'pitch' was situated at the rear of the NAAFI shop in Schumacher Strasse and a good time was had by all, with a fair amount of the local liquid refreshment being consumed both during and after the game! - 26Dec66.
