Flying Controls
      Feel in the stick is given by rubber bungees in the ailerons etc.

      Trim; no tabs, therefore trim is dealt with by repositioning the artificial feel. This is
      effected by;

          1. Normal - button on stick that is spring loaded to central position.
          2. Alternate - on port console. Three switches. These have three positions, two
                 trim positions and normal. In normal the button on the stick is in use
                 Elevator switch is Master. If 'off' the stick button is inoperative.

      Change from Normal to Alternate Flight Controls
           1. Automatic; When pressure drops warning light shows you are on
                                     alternate system.
           2.    Electric switch;
           3.    Manual;
Before flight check two hydraulic reservoirs. Little white rod should be about ¾" out (near dive
brake bay)

Undercarriage is just an electrical two-position switch to the selector valve
Emergency lowering of undercarriage; pull emergency handle to select valves to required
position. There is an accumulator to give the nose wheel an extra punch, as it folds forward
against airflow.
Before flight, the plunger in nose wheel bay has to be pulled to reset emergency system.
Undercarriage indicator. Gives you a picture of gear position.
Speed Brakes. Effective but slow in operation. At 435 kts. they will take 2½ seconds to close.
The switch must be returned to neutral to reduce fire risk as the lines pass close to the engine.
Two-way accumulator for emergency. It is charged with air to 1200 lbs/ins2.
Dump valve. Lever near to throttle (wired off) releases pressure to allow airflow to close speed
brakes.

Brake boost If Utility system goes down, you have to push harder on the rudder
                                pedals, but you will still get braking.
Nose wheel steering. When not engaged it is a shimmy damper. It is engaged with the red
                               button on the stick. It does not engage if the nose wheel is more than
                               21° either side of centre.
