44. Hood jettisoning
The hood may be jettisoned in an emergency by pulling the
lever mounted inside the top of the hood in a forward and
downward movement, and pushing the lower edge of the hood
outboard with the elbows. On aeroplanes not fitted with
a jettison type hood, a crowbar is provided to assist in
jettisoning the hood.
45. Forced landing flare
A forced landing flare is carried in a tube fixed inside
the fuselage. The flare is released by means of a ring
grip (1) on the left of the pilot's seat.
46. First aid
The first aid outfit is stowed aft of the wireless
equipment and is accessible through a hinged panel on the
port side of the fuselage.
