20. Warming Up
When the engione is running smoothly and the oil
pressure has settled, run the engine at 900-1000 r.p.m.
for at least 4 minutes and check as follows
(i) Trimming control works freely and return it
to the fully tail neavy position.
(ii) Slacken friction nut on throttle bracket.
(iii) Check mixture fully rich.
(iv) Set altimeter to zero.
(v) Check airspeed indicator. Note whether cali-
brated in m.p.h. or knots.
(vi) Check instruments as far as possible for ser-
viceability and lock compass grid ring.
(vii) Check oil pressure normal 35 lbs/sq. in. at
1000 r.p.m.
(viii) Check slot lever and lock slots.
(ix) Check fire extinguisher in place and secure.
(x) See that both sets of switches are in the "on"
position i.e. both up.
