93 Squadron Hangar jammed with Vampire FB5s and 9s with what maybe the first Squadron Sabre at the back.   Vampire FB9 WR139 T-D in the foreground was built by de Havilland at Chester 9May52, to 48 MU Hawarden 16May52, 5 Sqn, Wunstorf 9Jun52, 20 Sqn Jever/Oldenburg 19Jun52, 93 Sqn Celle 30Nov53 [This is a puzzle since 93 Sqn left Celle for Jever in March 52?], 5 Sqn Wunstorf 21Apr54, 12 MU Kirkbride 7Jul54, Iss Brooklands/RIW/Cat.4R 29Nov54-27Sep55, 12 MU Kirkbride 9Jul57, 4 FTS Worksop 28Oct57, 7 FTS Valley 4Jun58, SOC 20Jan59, Sold for scrap H H Bushell 8May59.
At the back on the right is a camouflaged Vampire which I, at first, thought was WA460.   Then I realised that this Vampire crashed on 14Aug53 when it collided with VZ877.   Therefore it could not have been on the Squadron when the first Sabre arrived on 8Apr54.   The Sabre in the background has soft-leading edge slats which no other Squadron at Jever had so it is probably a 93 Sqn aircraft.   On closer inspection the Vampire with B on the nose is probably VX463 which arrived on the Squadron on Wed 20Aug52 and left for 5 Sqn on Wed 14Apr54 and was also given the T-B markings.    (Thanks to Les Birch.)
