                   PART 1V-EMERGENCY HANDLING

         (ii)  Do not attempt to abandon the aircraft by dropping
               out from the inverted position.

        (iii)  If the aircraft is spinning, abandon the aircraft by
               diving over the side away from the axis of the spin.

     (c)  The hood opening strut remains on the aircraft after the
          hood has been jettisoned and forms a considerable obstruc-
          tion on the starboard side for the occupant of the front
          seat.  Therefore, unless the aircraft is in a spin to the left,
          the occupant of the front seat should leave the aircraft on
          the port side.
