101SU lads, relaxing on the airfield about 1957.   They appear to be standing on the railway line which was extended across the threshold to Runway 29 to allow the loading of Sylt trains on the south side of the airfield.   Some of the approach lights can be seen in the background.   Notice the rails inlaid in brick to avoid damage if an aircraft over/undershot.
