		OPERATIONS
Another very successful month's flying as the target of 310 hours was reached by the
24th July.   Squadron flying virtually ceased from that date and the last week of the
month was used for preparing the Squadron dispersal in preparation for the dispersal
		exercise in August.
Flight Lieutenant R. Rimington flew a Swift to Coltishall on the 3rd July.
Another aerobatic demonstration was given by Flight Lieutenant P.J. Adair on the 5th
July in a Vampire T.11.   This display was at Oldenburg German Air Force Base open
		day.
Four days flying were used during the month for air-ground firing at Strohen
		Range with favourable results.
One more pilot was converted to the Swift this month - Flight Lieutenant A.G.
Durward, Officer Commanding Station Flight at Jever who managed to do one sortie
on the 24th July before flying ceased.
Exercise ' Northern Lights ' was flown in July by Flying Officer G. Hagan and Pilot
Officer P. Holden-Rushworth.   They left base on 27th July for Solar, Norway, staging
through Karup, and returning the following day.
Four pilots from the F.R./P.R. Flight of the Royal Danish Air Force were attached to
the Squadron from 20th to 31st July.   They had two R.F. 84 F's and also brought
one photographic interpreter and an Engineering Officer with them.   Captain Michelson,
who is an old friend of the Squadron was in command of the detachment.
		SOCIAL
A Squadron Barbecue was held on the 3rd July in the woods on the airfield.   All ranks
with wives and girlfriends attended.   Fortunately, the weather cleared after three
days of rain and many indecisions due to this.
