Operations.
The target was not reached this month due to bad weather and an unfortunate accident to a Hunter which necessitated a large sea search in Shackletons, Pembrokes
and Ansons. All the pilots on the squadron were used as "eyes" for the search and
so no squadron flying was achieved for a week.
One Exercise "Full House" was held and also a "Round Robin" exercise to the
Belgian Air Force base at FLORRENNES on Friday, 20th November. The two, pilots
who flew this were Flight Lieutenant R. RIMINGTON and Flying Officer A.G. NEWING.
The Flight Commander, Flight Lieutenant A.K. IBBETT, finished his tour
this month and was posted for another flying tour. His replacement, Flight
Lieutenant D.B. HIVES arrived this month from No. 79 Squadron, where he had been
for about five months, after completing an instructional tour at Cranwell.
