4 Squadron line, APC Sylt - Feb58.   The nearest Hunter F.6 is X XG298 which arrived on 4 Sqn on Wed 13Mar57 and left on Mon 2Jan1 for Hawker Siddeley Aviation.   The next Hunter down the line is Y XE590 which arrived on 4 Sqn on Thu 10Jul58 and left on Wed 9Nov60.   Its 1st flt was flown by Hugh Mereweather 6Apr56 then passed to 19 Sqn as R, 263 Sqn, 93 Sqn and finally to 4 Sqn.  The FR 4 Sqn as V crashed on 10Nov60, [Suspect this should be 61 as 4 did not become FR until 61 and there is no mention of this in the 4 Sqn F540 for Nov60.], following bird strikes, pilot safe.   Category 5 Damage write off.   (Thanks to Maurice Parker.)
