Sabre F.4 XB822.   Engine failed during test flight from Jever.   Fg Off John S C Davis attempted emergency landing but while he was trying to sort out why the u/c would not lower he undershot the runway and crashed.  John survived - Sat 1Oct55.   (Thanks to Bill Sutherland.)
