JEVER STEAM LAUNDRY
Shareholders Annual General meeting, 1960
Once again the Proprietors of "Dirty Dick's" have agreed
to let us use their establishment for this years Annual
General Meeting. It will take place at opening time on
Saturday, January 7th 1961.
The undersigned apologises for the lateness of thisb
notification, but arrangements were in hand to hold the
meeting in an Officers Mess in the London area, but unfort-
unately, these fell thropugh at the last minute and there was
insufficient time left to organise anywhere other than the
boozer which anyway was more or less expecting us.
All shareholders are asked to assemble on time as
there is rather more business than usual to discuss. It is
understood that the lease of the Head Office may shortly
expire, which will mean a fall off in trade, a state of
affairs which we shall all want to see avoided. A casual
glance at the Financial Times will show that the price of
our shares have dropped rather badly during the past few
trying months, but if we can declare a higher dividend,
investors will be falling over themselves to buy what is
probably one of the finest investments in today's non-voting
(but heavy drinking) shares. Voting by proxy for those
who do hold voting shares is not encouraged, and it is hoped
that there will be a record attendance this year.
Owing to the frequent movement of shareholders,
and the lack of mail in the Secretary's file, it has be-
come very difficult to trace many members, and all recipients
are asked to write, ring, tell, telegraph their friends
of the day, date, time and place. For his part, the sec. will
endeavour to get an ad stuck in the "Aeroplane".
Included with this notification you may also find
a genuine imitation photograph, produced at great expense by
the undersigned, and if he doesn't get stamps to the value
of 9p to cover picture and postage he will definitely require
a free beer on the 7th!!
For general information, there was a visit made
to the Head Office at Upjever/Oldbg, and we are very happy
to report that things are still pretty lively, booze is
just as cheap, and the crack in the bar which Messrs Goodwin
and Sharman paid for to be repaired, 4 years ago, is still there.
A few selected minutes of last year's meeting are
reproduced on the reverse of tis notification. Any queries
will gladly be answered by next year;s Secretary, who we hope
will volunteer himself at 1800 hrs on 7th, with shorthand
book and pencil at the ready.
