Despite the lack of space in the Daily Telegraph's court circular
columns (we did try), last year's gathering of the JSL was most
successful. At one, well chosen, moment no less than 34 "almost
stationary" heads (Bodger's appeared at least twice) were counted.
An excellent turn-out providing a most enjoyable evening. As usual
Pat King (now retired) took the stool for the customary few words and
proposed the now ritual toast of reminding Pete Hunwick about the
"kitty".
This year's attendance target is 50 - ambitious I hear you say -
well maybe but it is not an impossibility, if you all turn-out together.
I already have a 1/2-promise from Ian Madelin to bring Dave Watt along
and if Ken has any green bottles (empty of course) left, the aquisition
of a piano could be appropriate. The attached address list should help
you identify a near neighbour, so why not persuade him to join you.
As previously "The Three Compasses" has been booked exclusively for us
on the "second Saturday" 14 Jan 89. Limpopo water and standard
fodder have been re-ordered - fallout to follow - see if you can make
it! We start at 1830 hrs with close of play usually sometime after
the last train!

Regarding the attached address list, this is the best information
I have. I know a lot of it is either out-of-date or incomplete and
I would be grateful for any corrections, updates or additions. I am
anxious to make the list as accurate and comprehensive as possible, so
please let me have any missing names, with or without addresses. If
necessary I will research their whereabouts with RAF Records - hopefully!
Finally, don't let anno domini deter you. Remember the JSL is not like
a squadron reunion with different generations (often everyone but yours)
present. If you can't recognise 95% of those attending then you must
have been at Oldenburg - and not airborne too often at that!
