A recent view of the Officers' Mess Bar.   The bar it-self was renewed in 2001 and in the course of the re-decorating work the carpet on the floor was removed which revealed the original Silesian Marble floor dating from 1938.   Once cleaned, the floor was found to be in such a good condition that the original idea of laying an oak parquet floor was dropped.   (The results can be seen in Chris Stone's photo 2005/15.)   (Thanks to Maurice Parker.)
