Anglo-German Week Open Day Jever 19Jun57.   English Electric Canberra B(I)8 in the static display.   Eric Pigdon tells me that it was built at Preston 12Oct56 and he thinks it is a Snake Emblem of 88 Sqad Wildenrath on the tail unit.   They had B(I)8's from Jan 56 to Dec 62 when the Sqdn was renumbered 14 Sqdn.   The aircraft crashed 3 miles south of Scorpe Dam (Germany) in bad weather on 4Mar59 both crew members killed.   (Thanks to Ian Argyle.)
