Photos of Open Day from Jeverland-Bote NWZ 12 Jahrgang No. 141 dated Friday the 21 June 1957

Translated by Maurice Parker

Picture Captions: There was a lot to be seen and at least as much to be heard as, the Station Commander at RAF Jever invited everyone to visit all that was to be found on an airfield.

More than 8,000 interested visitors accepted the invitation and found their way to this event which was part of the German-British Week.

Top photo: It is not surprising that the younger generation was strongly represented because when does one have the opportunity to see a Hunter squadron in formation and at close quarters...

Left photo: ..or to look into the insides of a fast 'bird?   The girls anyway risk a glimpse as...

Bottom right: ...the famous aerobatic team flew across the airfield.

(Thanks to Bruno Albers for the cutting and Maurice Parker for the translation.)
