	                                APPENDIX 'E' TO JEVER WING
	                                STANDARD OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES.

                       NIGHT FLYING CIRCUIT PROCEDURE.

1.   Aircraft joining at night visually are to do so from the I.P. at 2000 feet
arriving over the dead side of th runway threshold at 1500 feet. The turn onto
the downwind leg will be made at the upwind end of the runway.

2.   Practice roller landings are permitted only on dual checks.

3.	Overshooting aircraft are to do so straight ahead to 1000 feet and maintain
that altitude until a mile from the end of the runway before commencing a climbing
turn to 1500 feet on the downwind leg.

4.   R/T Procedure. Full R/T procedure is to be used at night, the circuit calls
are to include:-

     (a)  Taxy clearance

     (b)  Line-up and take-off clearance

     (c)  Airborne and channel change

     (d)  Rejoining.

     (e)  I.P.

     (f)  Upwind - when over runway threshold at 1500 feet.

     (g)  Downwind. - at upwind end of runway.

     (h)  Finals - opposite caravan.

     (j)  Clear of runway.

     (k)  Shutting down.

5.   R/T Failure.   At night, aircraft are to fly past th tow .:r at 300 feet and
flash navigation lights at irregular frequency and then carry out a normal
circuit, keeping a sharp lookout, landing on a green from the caravan.

6.   Electrical Failure.   The same procedure as above should be carried out,
except that without navigation lights as much noise as possible should be made by
using full power as you pass the tower.

7.   Undercarriage checks.   If undercarriage position is suspected at night, a
request for it to be checked should be made and the following procedure carried
out.

8.   Inform tower when 30 seconds to run, fly over the tower at 200 feet and at a
slow safe speed. An aldis will be directed on the undersurface and the under-
carriage will be inspected through glasses. As the white Aldis is very bright it
is imperative to keep eyes on instruments as you pass over the tower.
