JEVER AUGUST 1957 The only flying carried out this month has been air tests prior to the
aircraft being ferried back to the United Kingdom.
On 16th. August, all but two of the aircraft left the Squadron, and on the 19th. August,
the remaining pair returned to the U.K.
Some interesting facts about the period that the Squadron has had Hunter aircraft are
worth recording.   The total Hunter hours flown since May, 1955 are over 8,000.
The Squadron has had 3 detachments to Sylt whilst it was equipped with Hunters, and on
each occasion has put up new records for firing for this type of aircraft.   The figures
obtained on the last detachment were a record for any type of aircraft firing from Sylt.
It held the record for the lowest stoppage rate for a Hunter Squadron.
Flt.Lt. K.J. Goodwin, A.F.C., 'B' Flight Commander, has been the 2nd. T.A.F. Solo
Aerobatic Representative for the past two years and was awarded the A.F.C. in the New
Years Honours List.
