118 Sqn Aircrew and Groundcrew - Pre-Sylt Feb56.   Please let us know if you can name anyone.   It appears to be against the background of a Hunter which means it is probably after Apr55 when 118 Sqn got their Hunters.   In the centre is Norman Buddin who was CO from Jan56 to 22Aug57.   A few other names suggest it was taken for the Sylt detachment in Mar56.   This type of photograph was usually taken for Sylt detachments.   I am filing it as Feb56 until we know better.   Here are our best guesses so far:
Back row: 1 to 4 Unknown; 5. Gordon Cook, 6 to 12 Unknown 3rd and 4th rows: 13 Povey; 14 Unknown; 15 Robert Aitken; 16 and 17 Unknown; 18 Barrie Clarke; 19 Unknown; 20 Chick Prigmore; 21 Unknown; 22 Unknown; 22a Eddie Ryman; 23 Unknown; 24 Ron Wraith; 25 Cpl Jack Kerry; 26 Brian Fritz" Felstone; 27 Unknown; 28 Jock Gartshore; 29 to 32 Unknown; 33 Cpl Jones; 34 Unknown; 35 Ron Mcdougal; 36 to 37 Unknown; 38 George Spooner; 39 to 40 Unknown; 41 Johnny Cooke; 42 to 49 Unknown;

2nd Row seated: 56 Sgt. Joe Parsons; 57 to 59 Unknown; 60 Flt Sgt pilot Johnny Ward; 61 Denny Denison; 62 Ken Goodwin; 63 CO Norman Buddin with Sabre the Alsatian mascot at his feet; 64 Unknown; 65 Alan Powell; 66 Ian Craig; 67 to 69 Unknown; 70 Sgt Mac; 71 Sgt Darkie Spencer;
Front row kneeling: 72 Bill Brewer; 73 Ginger Dutton; 74 Thommy Thomson; 75 Bill Maish;

An amusing detail in this shot is the raised arm and hand making a 'V' sign, just visible behind 13 POVEY.   The obscured head seems to be hatless.   Could he therefore be a German civilian bowser driver, perhaps mocking the Brits? Thanks to Barrie Clarke.
