Snapshot in time - a page from Al Pollock's Logbook when he first joined 4 Sqn in about Aug57.   The contrast has been increased so that the faint pencil written Christian names can be read.   The large numbers, 23 pilots, was because the Duncan Sandys Defence Review had just disbanded 98 and 118 Sqns and pilots were kept on until they had owned their car overseas for one year.   Otherwise they would have had to pay a large tax on repatriation to UK with less than one year's ownership.   Those mentioned are as follows: Sqn Ldr R Chapman OC 4 Sqn; Lt.
