The 93 Sqn F540 mentions the squadron flying a 12-ship formation on 24Oct60.   (Click to see F540.)   I remembered I had a photograph of that event.   The F540 mentions that it had to be curtailed due to poor weather closing in at Jever.   The photograph does indeed show us all between layers and above low cloud cover.   My log book confirms that we all had to recover in pairs GCAs.   Note that the photo shows six aircraft were fitted with 4 drop tanks, and I have a vague recollection that Al Durward flew photo chase in the T-7 with a station photographer aboard.   The weather must have cleared up later because a second trip in my log book that day records me leading a four ship Hi-Lo-Hi strike against a target in the Low Level Uxbridge Area 1 in the UK - (1 hr 35 mins flight time).   (Thanks to Chris Stone.)
