Anglo-German Week RAF Jever Open Day 6Jun59   (Thanks to Gladys Watson)
Mike Wilson, who worked as a clerk in Station Headquarters at the time, noted in his diary at the end of the Open Day: "Up at 4am (I was duty clerk) to let in Met. fellow for signals.   Also at 5.   Stayed up.   Two pages of newsletter done, also flying list for later.   Return to block, wash etc, and to late brekka.   Down to Admin tent by 9.   Got a few jobs to do which riled me somewhat, like chopping sticks (two blisters) and picking up bottles etc.   All in all though Anglo-Banglo Open Day was fab.   About 20 different types and Hunters of 5 or 6 different squadrons or nations.   No.111 Sqn gave an immaculate display but low cloud spoilt some of it.   Full list enclosed.   Then there's personal stuff about pretty girls."
