John Mackenzie says he could never figure out why this contented puzzled looking sow was housed between the 93 squadron hangar and the railway line.   His pal on 4 squadron reckoned it was 93 squadron's mascot - but he would wouldn't he!   [Web Master's Notes: Before John's time at Jever, around 55-56, 118 squadron did have a pig as a mascot.   She was called Elspeth and was won in a local fete at Celle by Bodger Edwards before 118 squadron came up to Jever.   The series of pictures from the squadron photo here (Click to see) and the next four pages, explains the fun that they had with her and her quartering behind the hangers.   Unfortunately eventually she had to be quietly retired to the abattoir.   However you will see from these references that the station had a PSI Farm that provided fresh produce for the station and this pig is probably one of the last residents of the station pig farm?]   (Thanks to John Mackenzie)
