  21. A message from Ken Senar - 93 Sqn, alias POD: "Ken sent his apologies for being unable to be with you on the night and wishes you all well and hopes you have an extended old age without too many vicissitudes.   He has very happy memories of Jever and Borgentreich, enhanced the more by having to set pen to paper (stubby fingers to keyboard) so as to set them down for posterity in ICYP (Ken's autobiography "I'll Call You POD").   He adds that these days he can't remember what he had for breakfast - or even if he had any.   The live bat hanging outside his office door, the pig farm, and the PSI Gardens are deeply etched in his memory banks, as is the cry "Else's" when some unfortunate pilot left a packet of fags exposed in the crew room when flying - there were never any left when he returned!   Ken doesn't want to embarrass anyone but he does remember the incident when a certain young John Sutton, i/c Station Flight, had just been given powers of Subordinate Commander for the first time in his life.   Sod's Law had it that he had to take a charge within days: white faced, he came to Ken's office for solace and Ken remembers he was able to get him to watch, 'under instruction' a more serious charge being taken by Hammer West.   Poor John said afterwards that when he took the charge he suffered more anxiety than the accused!   Apologies to Sir John for singling him out on this occasion.   Right now, Ken will be raising a glass to you all from the P & O ship 'Oriana' as she sails homewards through the Bay of Biscay.   He wishes you all 'Bon santé', and may your laundry never get dirty."
