Duncan Curtis, author of Sabre books and ex-118 Sqn has loaned me his micro-film of F540s for 93 Sqn covering the period 1Jan51 to 31Dec55. This allows me to transcribe them direct from the micro-film viewer screen. I have found that Sevenoaks library has a viewer which I can use and I had my first session today. It will take a while and will mean that I will be concentrating on 93 Sqn so that I can return the film to Duncan quickly. As a result of my first session I found a typo in the F540 for 93 Sqn for Dec55 which hid pages of detail at the end of that F540. I have corrected this and reloaded it.

I have had some valid complaints that the Share Membership list has grown so large that it takes
a long time to load. The numbers on the database have grown from 227 on 9May04 to 400 on 12Sep04.
I have therefore split up the list into 4 approximately equal sections and they do load more

My apologies for the delay but I have just completed a thorough overhaul of the HTML language used to write this site and its 1,200 pages. By copying a previous layout to be used for the next entry I had unwittingly carried forward many errors in HTML grammar. Also I have bought an HTML Validation programme and I am in the process of correcting all 676 sheets (many have several pages), so far displayed to ensure that the HTML is readable by other browsers. I use Internet Explorer and know that it will read all the pages correctly but there may be other browsers which stumble over my clumsy HTML and do not display properly. The only way is to make all my HTML correct then any browser should be able to read the pages OK. This will throw a delay into the process of loading material. |
