456. My apologies for the long "break in transmission". I was on holiday in Florida for Hurrican Wilma, came back with 2 weeks before a major London visit by my Bosses from Fairfax County, this involved tracking 1,700 invitations to a major event on 15Nov05, the second day back from Florida my main hard disk crashed and I lost the total web site from my machine. The back-up turned out to be incomplete and so I had to labouriously download the web site from the web copy. This I have just completed. I have a back-log of excellent material that various people have sent me. Please be patient, I can now start to progress it.

409. Completely re-organised and re-mounted the first 108 photographs taken during the Jever tour on 16Aug05.   They were all strung together in one document interspersed with narrative text.   This file became too big and any jumps from the file to elsewhere in the web site meant that when you returned you had to wait for all the pictures and text to load again.   This became very tedious.   I have spent the weekend re-organising them so that the pictures load one at a time with the associated text.   This technique also means that I provide a list of all the photographs and allow you to jump direct to a photograph without having to load all of them.   I have also provided the usual buttons at the bottom of each page to move back and forwards through the pictures.   The centre button takes you back to the list of all photographs.   (Click to see)

387. My apologies first for the delay but resuming work after the Summer break has intruded.    Secondly, the mounting of the Microsoft PowerPoint presentation has not worked.   PowerPoint translated it to a series of web pages and when I tried it on my computer it worked and I could read it fine.   However, when loaded on to the web site and downloaded again, it then did not work and I presume no one was able to look at it.   Thank you Microsoft!   I tried it with Mozella and Opera, two other web browsers, but they could not read it either.   So I have taken it down and after I have put up the rest of the visit photographs I will try to load the presentation as pictures one page at a time.   If successful, this will also download more quickly.
386. Thanks to Gerry Shipley, identified 10 more names in two photos believed to be of 1960 AGM.   However, Gerry raises a valid point in that he believes that these were taken in Dirty Dick's on 3 Jan59 not 2 Jan60.   He is trying to claim immunity from prosecution for the 1960 event on the grounds of marriage in Feb60 - don't see the problem personally!!??   We really must resolve this confusion once and for all.   It involves a lot of work altering the dates on all those jumps and the next time I do it I hope it is for the definitive version   Can anyone give evidence categorically for 1960 or 1959?   (Click to see).

This has revealed errors in our records. I am sure John Hawtin is correct and the accident occurred in about April 1960. Unfortunately we have two clear pictures of John Lakeman in the crowd at what I have been calling the AGM for 1961 - clearly impossible. Some research among the latest documents I have just received from Jeff Jeffreys reveals that BeBe Sharman was selling two photographs of the 1960 AGM for 8d in 1/2d stamps. I now believe these are the two photographs and were therefore taken at Dirty Dicks at the Saturday 2Jan1960 AGM. I will now have to move them to 1960. Can anyone else remember?   (Click to see).

3. Just returned from holiday to the sad news of the death of Peter Baines.   I feel bad that because I was away and in spite of Jo Baines e-mailing me the notification, I was unable to announce it on the site until after the funeral.   (Click to see).
